Bone Density T-Scores Explained

For education only. This page does not diagnose osteoporosis or replace individualized medical care.

A T-score compares measured bone density with a young-adult reference population. It is commonly used as one part of osteoporosis assessment in appropriate adults.

Do not use an online article to self-diagnose from a number alone; ask the clinician who ordered your scan how the result applies to you.
